A perfect match...

Don’t you love it when you find a new use for an old treasure? One of my dearest friends found this vintage pink trash can (and matching tissue box cover) at a flea market several years ago and brought it home to me. “A little bit of pink kitsch,” she said. “I thought you would like it.” She was right, of course.
For a long time, I used the trash can as it was intended, in the bathroom or in my giant closet/dressing room, when I had such a thing. But when we moved back East, it didn’t seem to find a home in my new decorating scheme, so I put it away, hoping I would find a use for it.

And then a couple of months ago, I saw the photograph above. I can’t for the life of me remember where I found it, but when I saw it, I instantly knew I had a use for my old pink trash can. Because I design wallpaper and fabric for fun, I have a lot of wallpaper samples. I mean, a lot. Some of you may remember me writing about nearly drowning in them last summer. I typically keep them in three rolls, tied and sitting on a corner of my desk, both for decoration and inspiration. When I saw the photo above, I knew I had found a new way to store them.

Isn’t that adorable? I think they just go perfectly together.
