My home: The before & after tour...
I have made a few changes here to my blog, mostly to brighten things up and allow some room for a few new features. Since I finally finished compiling all of my posts as part of my whole-house redecorating project, I wanted to feature those ~ I know how people love before & after projects, including me.
So, for those who may not be familiar, a little background: In mid-2012, we moved back into our old house in the Carolinas after living in southern California for six years. For a good year and a half, I kept busy completely redecorating the entire house ~ living room, dining room, hall/library, two bedrooms, TV room, kitchen, breakfast nook, bathroom and sun porch. And when I say redecorating, I mean new paint, furniture, rugs, lamps, art, the works. I even designed the fabrics for the drapes. It was exhausting. And exhilarating.
Of course, there will always be things I keep playing with and changing, but I can safely say the project is finally complete (at least until we completely renovate the kitchen and bathroom).
For those who are interested in seeing how I transformed our home, click on the photos of each room in the left-hand column, or, to see everything, you can click here to go to the main project page.
Here are some before & after pics to whet your appetite...

And there is much, much more on the main page. To see everything, including the along-the-way shots, just click on The Big Redecorating Project tab at the top of my blog. The page is divided by room so you can scroll through easily. Or, if you just want to see more of one particular room, click on the appropriate photo on the left. Either way, I hope you enjoy.

What a major makeover! You did an amazing job, it's a beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteEileen, your house is absolutely stunning! What a transformation you have accomplished.
ReplyDeleteThat lamp in the living room is to die for. I love it! Oh, and I spied the "Casablanca" movie poster. Definitely a perfect addition to a TV room.
I wanted to let you know that while I am still occasionally (once a month or so) writing on my classic film blog, I've taken a huge step back from it. Reviewing films all the time made the watching of them a burden; plus, I was missing having a "beautiful things" kind of blog. I had deleted Fill My Cup with Beauty, so I started a new blog, Magnolia Cottage, where I intend to write about any number of beautiful things. I'd love to have you stop by.
Again, your home is beautiful. Thanks so much for taking us on a tour.
Blessings,
Patti
