Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! We are enjoying the sunshine this weekend, as well as a barbecue and some fireworks this evening (the city we live in puts on a big show). Naturally, Tilly is in the spirit of the holiday. She has her patriotic gear on to greet everyone, as you can see.

I always enjoy the view of the flag from the side yard but as you can see this year, Ralph, my limelight hydrangea, really should have been trimmed back. But since he’s about to bloom, I’ll leave him be until the fall. He’s sort of wonderfully enthusiastic in all his growth, which is beautiful in its own way. And he is going to be full of those gorgeous pale green blooms. There are worse things than an overgrown hydrangea.

Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday!

  3. Tilly is adorable! And that brick walkway is beautiful. Did you build it yourself?

    Happy 4th!

    1. We did! Or rather, my husband did. He built all of the brick walkways around our yard. They're beautiful.
