The beauty of patchwork...

The patchwork pillow I created in sewing class is all finished and it turned out pretty cute. I made it from leftover samples of my fabric designs for The Pink Home. I just pulled together some pink and green pieces and sewed them together per the pattern we were given in class. This was a fun project because it gave us a chance to learn about decorative stitching, too.
I also created a collage I thought I would share of some of my favorite wallpaper designs for The Pink Home ~ I think the patchwork pillow put me in mind to gather them up.

Wishing all of you a lovely day...

  1. What a gorgeous pillow!! I remember that my mom made lots of patchwork quilts.....using our old clothing....nothing ever went to waste. She made a patchwork quilt and gifted it to me at a bridal shower nearly 50 years ago. We used it to the point it started coming apart, so I put it away. I need to get it out and repair it and continue to use it as that's why she made it. Some of the fabric scraps came from clothing I made while in high school!!

    Have a great Pink Saturday!

  2. Eileen, your pillow certainly caught my eye at Anything Goes and Pink. This would look so great in a girl's room, a Florida space or in support of themed events such as BCA or even a Lilly Pulitzer or preppy type of party (shower, sorority, etc,). Love your creativity.

  3. That's a beautiful patchwork pillow! I've never used the decorative stitching on my quilts but I really like the way it looks!
