A little retro glamour...

When I shop for big purchases, I try to save my money for things I absolutely can't live without. If I'm unsure about something, for whatever reason, I leave it in the store. I know that if I really, really want it, it'll stay on my mind until I find a spot for it.
Such was the case with this lamp. I fell in love with it a couple of months ago and every time I popped into Pier One, I would go and swoon over it. And every time, I'd leave the store without it.
I kept thinking it would go great in my living room ~ I love the retro glamour it exudes ~ but I wasn't 100 percent sure, as I was still waiting on my furniture to be delivered and the rest of the room to come together. I knew I needed a floor lamp but there wasn't enough room for a lamp this size where I was originally thinking it needed to go. But when my furniture finally arrived a couple of weeks ago, I realized I needed something in that spot beside the armoire to help balance the room and then I remembered the lamp. I did a couple quick measurements and saw it would fit perfectly, so I went off to Pier One and brought one home with me. Isn't it fabulous? It's one of my new favorite things in the house.
I'll be showing you the rest of my living room this week. After three months, it's just about finished.

  2. Eileen - that lamp is AWESOME!!! Did it come with that shade, too? OMG, it looks fabulous next to your armoire! When I first saw the photo, before reading the post, I thought you'd found a fabulous vintage floor lamp. Now that I know it's from Pier 1, I'm trying to think of where I could use it in my house! haha
Thanks for the kind words on my dad's wedding ring post :)
Like your music, too. It goes with the feel of the lamp :)

  3. OOOOOH, I don't know how you walked out of the store without that lamp even once! It is fantastic. I have a "Thing" for lamps, but I'd like that one even if I were normal.:)
