The beauty of birthday flowers...
It's amazing what a few flowers can do.
I celebrated a birthday this week and wasn't particularly looking forward to it. Not because of my age, but because my friends were out of town and my fiancé was still in California, and spending my birthday alone wasn't exactly my idea of a good time. I've also been so busy working my normal job during the day and working on the house in the evenings and on the weekends, I've had time for practically nothing else, including blogging, so I've been feeling a bit flat. Exhausted and flat. I'm trying to get the interior of the house completely redecorated ~ well, at least 95 percent done ~ before my fiancé moves back East at the end of next month, hence the constant work. I want to have the house pretty much together so we can enjoy the autumn and the upcoming holidays.
Anyway, between all that and no one being around, I wasn't really doing much birthday celebrating this year. It was just another day, if you know what I mean. And then my doorbell started ringing with flower deliveries and suddenly the day seemed much brighter. Friends, family and my fiancé had sent me lovely bouquets for my birthday ~ four in all. My house is filled with beautiful flowers and instead of feeling kind of ho-hum, I keep smiling.
Wishing all of you a lovely week, full of happy surprises...

Sometimes you just have to wait a little longer, but things usually turn out for the best. I had a birthday too, but it would not have mattered to me what I did on it. I am just thankful to have another. Our lives are what we make them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! How lucky to receive not one but 4 different bouquets
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!!!!
