Aren't these old patterns fabulous? The dresses are all beautiful - and look how tiny those waists are! Too fun. They made me smile when I came across them so I thought they would make a great Tuesday brightener.
Hope you enjoy this little glimpse of beauty from the past. :)
I've been thinking about getting some vintage patterns and making dresses! however, I soon realized the sizing was a lot different back then and I do not have a tiny waist! :-( I still have fun looking for vintage patterns on Etsy though...
What a lovely blog you have...just found you through French Charming and so glad I did...I adore your blogs name...beauty does matter..inside and out! I love vintage patterns, any thing to do with sewing I like.. those patterns are really pretty,, how sad women don't dress like that any more... guess June Cleaver is no more... I love the style,,
Delightful pictures! My French grandmother had an exquisite lingerie boutique back in the late forties, everything was hand made, silk, and lace. When nylon was invented ... she shut down. I remmeber browsing the prints like the ones you show here when I was little. I have an original one framed in my wardrobe. Nice memories ...
Hello darling, I am back and have missed you terribly!! I have a post on my blog that explains my lengthy absence but enough of that, I just wanted to stop by personally to thank you for the sweet birthday wish you left Cristina and to let you know that your kindness meant the world to us both. I am now off to read the posts that I have missed and to look around your gorgeous blog. Love & Hugs Duchess ♥♥♥

I remember seeing patterns like these in the dimes stores in my youth. Took lots of petticoats to wear these.
ReplyDeleteStop by my kitchen when you get a chance. I have something for you. Enjoy your day.
