Tuesday brightener... Vintage Jasperware

I love little dishes like this - catch-alls for things like earrings and rings and buttons to be sewn on later. I keep a little antique rose dish on my dresser for just such things. The trick, I've discovered, is to keep the dish small - that way you can't dump too much stuff in there. And, of course, it should be beautiful so it pleases you to look at it each day.
I came across these photos of a vintage Jasperware dresser box on flickr and thought you would enjoy them. Jasperware was first developed by Wedgwood and is best known in the blue-and-white color scheme (which you have probably seen), but it comes in many other colors. This is a particularly pretty piece. I hope it brightens your Tuesday. :)

  1. I remember these from my childhood. Good idea to keep them small. They're a catch all if you aren't careful. Very pretty.

  3. Gorgeous piece! I have the same philosophy with my purse...I have to keep them small or I end up carrying everything except the kitchen sink!
