New reading delights...

I spent an hour or so wandering around the bookstore a few days ago and came home with these goodies. I am in the mood for spring, as you can see – gardening, cooking & cleaning. (It probably helped that both magazines had plenty of pink on their covers.) And, of course, a little bit of whimsy and inspiration is always welcome.
What are you reading these days?

Happy Spring...

Happy Spring, everyone! I am thoroughly looking forward to getting back out in the yard and working on my garden projects and enjoying some warmer weather. Though I must admit the last couple of days, it feels like winter has come back for one last goodbye where I live. We were enjoying temperatures in the 70s and then suddenly this weekend it got cloudy and rainy with highs in the 50s. Happy spring, indeed. Brrr.

Nevertheless, our yard took note of the warmer temperatures and things are starting to come back to life. Our daffodils have bloomed and our forsythia has started to green up and bloom. And my poor husband has already had to cut the grass three times in the past two weeks.
My rose bushes have also roared back to life and my azaleas have started to bloom. More photos to come...

Wishing everyone a lovely spring.

A blue Monday...

Yesterday I learned of the passing Smiling Sally, the dear, sweet blogger who loved blue and hosted Blue Monday. I’m sharing these blue hydrangeas in her memory. They were just starting to turn blue when I took this photograph and they somehow feel appropriate. I enjoyed seeing all the blue posts everyone shared as part of her gathering and appreciated her kind words when she visited. Rest in Peace, Sally.

So long, Downton Abbey...

After six glorious seasons, the Downton Abbey series finale airs tonight. I am so looking forward to seeing how one of my favorite shows of all time wraps things up.
I did find the last companion book to complete my collection and have already purchased the final season on DVD, though I have not watched ahead. Since I have enjoyed every other season watching along with everyone else on PBS, I decided to stick with tradition this time, too.
Will you be watching?
