An interior design project...

One of my aunts is moving into a new lake house. She and my uncle are in the process of updating the house, which is full of charm. The house has some lovely views and plenty of space and they are planning on staying there for quite a while.
Since they are not really into decorating, and I am, my aunt asked if I would help her. Of course, I leaped at the chance. Since the house is in New Jersey and I live in the South, I have been sending colors, furniture recommendations, window treatment ideas and inspiration photos for each room by mail. I visited the house a couple months ago so I could get a feel for it and take photographs.
In the top photo you can see the rattan window treatments I think would be perfect in their house ~ they can stand alone or pair wonderfully with drapes. In the bottom photo, I was working on picking out blue paint chips to send them to choose from for a room.

As you can see, I have had plenty of help with my project. Since I have had everything spread out on the floor at various times, Miss Emily has decided it is fine for her to get right in the middle of things.

Below, you can see the round table I am recommending they buy for their dining area ~ the style would be perfect in their house. And their family room downstairs looks very similar to the one shown bottom right ~ I sent that along as a furniture arrangement suggestion.

All in all, it’s been a fun project so far. I am hoping to get to share before & after photos with you at some point.
Wishing all of you a lovely day...
