The sweet smell of jasmine...

After nearly three years of pruning and reshaping, my jasmine is finally headed in the right direction. And this year it blessed me with the sweetest smelling blooms. Their perfume hangs wonderfully in the air and is the first thing to greet you as you climb out of the car.
This jasmine got a bit overgrown while we lived in California, completely consuming its trellis. Jasmine grows so quickly here you really have to keep an eye on it and prune it back or else it will take over. I have trained it to go up a lovely trellis I bought ~ the only thing it needs now is a bit of trimming at the top (I don’t want it to race up my chimney) and a bit off the front. Getting it into shape has been part of our ongoing yard renovation. Speaking of which ~ wait until you see the completed walkway in the front yard. My husband did a beautiful job. Now I just have to finish the little garden it leads to, but more on that later.
Wishing all of you a lovely week...

  2. Beautiful! You are really pulling everything together in such a wonderful way. We have Carolina Jessamine on the front of our house. Right now there's a sweet mockingbird nesting in it. :)
