Snow days...

We have more snow in the forecast this week. Normally I would be as delighted as Emily ~ seen here wandering around in the snow a couple of weeks ago ~ but I have so much work to do this week, the timing isn’t great. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if it snows tonight and tomorrow as they say it will.
Of course, a good old-fashioned snow day would be more than welcome, but the world doesn’t seem to know how to enjoy those anymore. It’s always go, go, go, which is kind of a shame.
If it does snow and I end up unable to get out of my neighborhood (as is usually the case in bad winter weather), I will work from home and try to make the best of it. At least I planned well and did a lot of cooking this weekend, leaving the fridge stocked with comforting winter foods like roast chicken, macaroni and cheese and shepherd’s pie, just waiting to be popped in the oven. And with the kitchen nearby, I can easily pour cup after cup of hot tea or cocoa to enjoy while I’m working at my computer. And being stuck at home is always better than being stuck on the road somewhere. I guess there’s always a silver lining.

  1. It sounds like you are well prepared for this snow. It started snowing here this morning at about 8AM and we already have a couple of inches. We are suppose to get up to 14 inches they now say. Stay warm and safe!
