Drapes: the final touch...

It's amazing the difference curtains make to a room. Hanging my living room and dining room drapes this past week really finished both rooms ~ literally and figuratively. I designed both fabric patterns myself and my mom, bless her, made the drapes. They're fully lined and beautifully done and they look wonderful. The pink drapes made my large living room feel cozy instantly and gave the room a soft glow. They add a bit of drama, too, which I love. And the gray dining room drapes are perfect in that room ~ they really balance the gray of the furniture on the opposite side, which you can see here, and the pattern sort of mimics the wall design. I couldn't be happier with them.
What do you think?

  4. I love your living room! It's such a pretty soft shade of pink. The furniture is beautiful and you're right, the curtains are lovely and they really do finish things off. You've done such an amazing job!!

I'm going to be decorating my living room very soon. The new couch will be delivered in about 4 weeks, and I'm really not sure I can pull together as lovely a room as you have. of course, there's no way my DH would agree to having a pink living room (rats), he wants to have one wall red!

  5. Your room is very beautiful! I love how the curtains are dramatic and beautiful, yet the room doesn't feel too girly or frou-frou with all the pink. I bet you and your guests feel very relaxed in a room with such a soft feel too.

  8. Your rooms have a casual elegance and are very inviting. I agree that drapes make the space, you need the softness to play against the hard goods. Yours are fabulous AND you designed them so they are extra special.
