Welcome, spring...

The first blooms of spring always make my heart sing.
~ S. Brown

The first day of spring is always something worth celebrating. Even if it's still chilly where you live, spring brings the assurance that sunny, warmer weather is near and with it, some gorgeous blooms. I love spring flowers ~ they seem a little more special than the summer ones, probably because they offer that sense of renewal with an air of delicacy. Tulips are my favorite spring flower, followed by lilacs.
Do you have a favorite spring flower?

  1. Tulips are definitely amongst my Spring favourites. So are daffodils and hyacinths - actually pretty much anything colourful that blasts away the Winter grey :-) Have a lovely spring-y day xo

  2. Lilacs for sure! My little lilac bush has it's green leaves, but it probably won't bloom until mid April.

    Happy first day of Spring.

  3. I am listening to Frank's version of "AS Time Goes By" on your playlist right now. SO excited to hear Dooley Wilson singing it in CASABLANCA tonight!!

You know how we welcomed spring yesterday!? With snow!! I kid you not...it snowed all morning yesterday.

My favorite spring flowers are lilacs and lilies of the valley. And the scent of both is divine!!

    Blessings to you.

    Love,
    Patti

  8. All spring flowers are among my favorites. But I guess the best for me is peony's. Not sure I spelled it correctly, but I love them anyway.

  9. Beautiful tulips Eileen. My fave is lilacs and for some reason my lilac bush died this winter. Sigh! I'm looking for a new one right away.

I too love the happy days of Spring.

  10. Happy PINK Saturday! I too love Spring flowers with there soft colors versus the hot riotous colors of Summer. It has been an exceptionally early and hit spring here and has me wondering what the Summer is going to be like?! Have a great weekend, Nan

  13. I live close to the equator now and because of the heat, spring doesn't spring on us like where I used to live...in Virginia...where my Day Lillys always made me SO happy. They're still my favorites when I'm lucky enough to see them!
