The charms of an antique bathroom...

To my mind, there is nothing more charming in a bathroom than wainscoting and an old clawfoot tub. Add a simple pedestal sink, creamy walls, an antique mirror, old cream and pale green tile, a built-in magazine rack and cupboard and a skylight that floods the room with natural light and you've got a dream come true for a bathroom. Yes, it's a little small and the shower in the clawfoot tub takes a little getting used to, but it's a small price to pay for such charms. With the floaty curtains and touches of pink here and there, it's a very feminine room, but not too girly. It is, by far, the loveliest bathroom I've ever had. And more importantly, it perfectly suits our new little cottage, which I love more and more each day.

P.S. If you'd like to see the rest of our cottage, click here for living room, here for the dining room and here for the kitchen, which is my second favorite room in the house.

  3. Hello Eileen!
Your bath is absolutely charming!!Our home is 100 years old and we have the very same one - although without the shower!
We are going to install one of those handheld showers but are having trouble finding the right one. I can officially say that I havent had a shower in 15 years - hehe. Nothing like a hot bath in a super deep clawfoot tub though!
I am off to see the rest of your cozy cottage!
    Hugs and Smiles,
    Lynn

  5. Oh my that's gorgeous! I'm planning on re-doing my Miami Vice bathroom (it's pink and blue tile...original to when the house was built in 1956) with the clawfoot tub, etc. Yours is just very pretty.

  17. Happy Pink Saturday Eileen Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful, serene and wonderful retreat in your very own home. A place you can go to, and lose yourself. It is so inviting. I would imagine you have many guests visiting quite often, or visitors lingering in your bathroom.

I love the breezy curtains, and that magazine build in is so beautiful. Love it. I also love the tile flooring. Your mirror is exquisite. Such a beauty.

Thank you for taking me on this gorgeous tour this morning. I have never had so much fun in a bathroom. Simply refreshing sweetie.

Have a glorious weekend. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry
