Combating the gray...

It's a gray, rainy day here and it looks like we're in for plenty more of the same, along with an added dash of cold temperatures, for the next few days. I am missing the gorgeous spring weather we enjoyed last week. I am also lamenting that I likely missed my window to photograph my neighbor's gorgeous flowers. I've been meaning to snap photos for a few days and now it's unlikely I'll get a chance with all this rain ~ the wet weather and wind will probably do them in. Sigh...
Of course, there is always some color and beauty to be found to combat the gray. I stumbled across a most marvelous slide show on Midwest Living's web site all about peonies ~ growing tips, varieties, etc. These photos are from there ~ aren't they gorgeous? Beautiful enough to brighten the grayest of days. I absolutely love peonies; they are so graceful and elegant. One day I hope to have a whole huge batch of them growing in my yard, though I'm not quite sure how ~ they love sun and my yard has a lot of shade. I may have to lose a tree. Hmmm...
I hope you're enjoying lovely weather and lots of beautiful color wherever you are. If you haven't had a chance to stop by my new blog, The Pink Home, please do. It's a lovely place and I'd love your company.

  3. Bella,

Peonies are one of my absolute favorites. I hope they have them in the market like they did last year! I am finding I like iPhoto for very basic editing but I then Photoshop will do more if I can figure it out!

  5. I am totally and completely envious on anyone that can grow peonies...alas I cannot grow them here in Southern California. I keep hoping that they will be hybridized to grow here but so far no luck. So...you will have to grow them for me and when you do I hope that you will share their beauty again.(-:

Thank you for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment...I will be back. Have a great day.

  7. Dear Bella.
I too love peonies and the way they SMELL! I would have a yard full of them if they lasted longer. In Chicago, they probably won't be blooming until late May or early June. Not sure why I live here!? Ha!

I hope you don't mind, but we nominated you for a Stylish Blog Award on our blog this afternoon. We wanted to share your lovely site with our fellow bloggers.
Please stop by sometime soon and collect and share your award.

    Thanks so much!
