The beauty of white...

Sometimes there is nothing quite as soothing to me as seeing the different textures and shades of white. I think of it as one of the few year-round colors, perfect for any season with the right accents. These photos from Country Living show how soothing and sophisticated a white palette can be when done correctly (for tips and ideas on decorating with white, click here). Oatmeal and winter white shades pair perfectly in the fall and winter, while pastels are a perfect accompaniment in the warmer months. And of course there are always the classic blue and white and red and white pairings. Do you have a favorite way to use white in your home?

  1. I really think white is beautiful, but I've always been afraid of it. We're a bit too messy, but it looks absolutely fabulous and timeless. Great photos.

  4. I love this, but I'm horrible at decorating :-( Plus, I'm terrible with white...I always get it dirty whether it's clothing or decor!

  5. Bonjour Bella, a great post, I love white interiors and find it very easy to live with: any stain and (with brillian white anyway) you can just paint it over in no time. The pic with the suitcases has to be my favourite - brilliant! Love from London xo

  7. Beautiful images. I love how fresh white is. I never thought about summer and winter white schemes but your pairings make total sense. I'm getting braver about getting white things whether it's clothing or for home. I'd love white sheets for our bed, that to me is a total indulgence!
