Wednesday Wishes... Window seats

Kathie @ Just a Happy Housewife is having a fun meme today ~ Wednesday Wishes ~ so I thought I'd join. Today I find myself wishing for a lovely little spot by a window to sit down and read. Work is just not doing it for me today. :) I have always longed for a beautiful window seat, ever since I was a little girl. There's something magical about a pile of pretty pillows and comfy cushions on a window bench, just beckoning you to sit down and be still for awhile. And if there's a table nearby to put a nice glass of iced tea and a vase of daisies, well, that's even better. I still don't have a window seat... but I will ~ someday.
What are you wishing for today?

  1. yay!!! another person participated-woohoo! I may put up mr. linky next time :-)

I love window seats as well, there's just something about them. I picture sitting and looking out the window or just reading a book. More houses need them (and porches!). thanks again for joining in!!! you made my day.

  2. p.s. the flowers you asked about are called ice cream tulips :-) I'm not sure what the actual name is....but they're commonly called ice cream tulips.

  3. I really like your "mission statement" on your profile, sweetpea. I try to do the very same thing. Have you ever heard of Alexandra Stoddard? She wrote a book about living beautifully and it changed my life, chickee. It's beautifully written.

Hmmmm, I may join up for that meme also.

    xoxo,

  5. I had a window seat of sorts in my bedroom as a girl. It was a bay window and I thought it was so cool. You've certainly shown us some beauties.
    Have a great Wednesday.

  10. Love the window seats. I'm trying to come up with something special and stylish for our bedroom window seat where our dalmatian likes to sit and watch the world go by. Spots maybe?

  14. Girl, those window seats are delich. I looked at a few homes built in the 80s that had full length window benches below the master suite window. Awwwww, we didn't pick 1 of those.
