August charms...

August: "When summer gathers up her robes of glory, and like a dream of beauty glides away."
~Sarah Helen Power Whitman

Enjoy this lovely summer month's offerings, when flowers are in full bloom, vegetables can be picked in the back yard, and the beach beckons. Grill out, indulge in a light summer read and nap on the porch. The beauty of simple living is easy to be found this month.

  1. When you put it like that I suppose I feel a bit better about August.
    A little bit.
It's just too close to that other thing.

  2. August is the month when the summer sounds are at their best! The sound of crickets and cicadas - love it! It sounds so lazy, as it should in the waning days of summer.

  3. august is a great month! The seagrass is nearing it's highest and ready to put forth a plume. I love the pictures you have of full bloom roses sitting in tea cups on the window sill ...so cute!
